Symptoms of kidney infection

Kidney infections develop quickly, and often you will notice symptoms within a day. Symptoms of kidney infection, which become worse when you urinate or feel an urge to urinate, include:

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Uncontrollable shivering and fever
  • Pain in your back or groin

If you also have a bladder infection, you may notice:

  • Cloudy or bloody urine
  • Burning or stinging when you try to urinate
  • Urine with unpleasant odor
  • Frequent urination
  • Inability to your empty bladder
  • Abdominal pain

If you notice those symptoms, visit your doctor as soon as possible for medical treatment.
