Our full orthopedic services provide general orthopedic services as well as knee and hip replacement, sports medicine and the management of fractures.
Obstetrics
Our Obstetrics Department is dedicated to serving the needs of mothers, babies, and their families! We provide services to pregnant and birthing mothers as well as nursery and postpartum care. We have two birthing rooms and a whirlpool tub for laboring. We also have three postpartum rooms, two of which have queen size beds to accommodate fathers who wish to stay at the hospital. All rooms are private.We offer non-pharmacologic pain relief methods including the labor tub, birthing balls, music and movement.

Diabetes Education
Northern Maine Medical Center's Diabetes Education Program is designed to assist the person with diabetes, and their family, in learning about the disease, its treatment and self-care. The program is a comprehensive outpatient diabetes education program in compliance with the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
General Surgery
General surgery is the treatment of injury, deformity, and disease using operative procedures and is frequently performed to alleviate suffering when a cure is unlikely through medication alone. It can be used for routine procedures performed in a physician's office or for more complicated operations requiring a medical team in a hospital setting. Areas of the body treated by general surgery include, but is not limited to, the stomach, liver, intestines, appendix, breasts, thyroid gland, some arteries and veins and the skin. NMMC's experienced board certified surgeons offer endoscopic procedures, all surgical office procedures, major laparoscopic and open abdominal procedures, cesarean sections, as well as outpatient procedures.
