For Kids: Your Asthma Zones
Asthma zones help you know if your asthma is under control. Ask your doctor, nurse, or therapist to write down your ideal peak flow level and your numbers for each asthma zone. Each time you use your peak flow meter, find what zone you're in. Then do what your action plan tells you to do.
Green Zone: GoYour airways are clear. You're doing fine. Keep following your green zone action plan. Yellow Zone: Slow DownYour airways are swollen. You're heading for a flare up. Follow your yellow zone plan. Red Zone: StopYou're having a flare up. You need help right away. Follow your red zone plan and get help. |
