Those fancy maneuvers on the basketball court could leave you with an ankle injury. That goes for other court sports such as racquetball and tennis, as well. To help prevent injuries to your ankles or the Achilles and other tendons, buy quality athletic shoes and replace them frequently, say experts from the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Use appropriate support for arches, and stretch the Achilles' tendon and calf muscles before playing.
